China said on Wednesday that it has always "strictly honoured" its commitments to work to safeguard peace and tranquility on the border with India.
China has said that it enjoys good relations with both India and Pakistan.
China, which is closely watching Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's current visit to India, on Wednesday hoped that Tokyo will play a "positive" role in safeguarding regional peace, stability and development.
'We hold that the boundary issue between China and India should be settled fairly and reasonably at an early date through friendly consultations'.

In a meeting on the sidelines of the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Dushanbe on Thursday, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on the current situation in the region and agreed that military and diplomatic officials of both sides should meet again and discuss resolving the remaining issues at the earliest.
"What kind of a person the Dalai Lama is? He is explicitly, in his words and deeds, a political exile engaged in destabilising activities. His aim is to undermine China's relations with other nations and its national unity," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu told a bi-weekly press briefing in Beijing.
Spokesmen for Huawei in Brussels and London were not immediately available for comment. Representatives of the company in Madrid did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
He said both sides reaffirmed to sincerely work towards complete disengagement of the troops along the LAC.
